Description: I was making a delivery to a construction site the other day and while I was waiting for a forflift to unload me I took some pics with my phone.
At first this shot was just really gray as there was a storm overhead. so, I helped it out and desaturated the rest of the color away and bumped the levels a bit.

that's kinda wicked looking... almost like lightening ready to strike the crane as it feeds the generators attached to the capacitors which dump directly into Frankenstein's head... oooppss got carried away again... sorry hehe

That's a good shot, especially for a phone pic - how many mpx is your phone camera? The slight graininess certainly helps add to the mood of the photo.

Tamlin: its a 1.3 megapixel. with a scratch on the piece of plastic that is over the lens. fortunately the scratch is just out of the lens field so it only makes a slight flare in really bright light. I often get some of my finger in the shot.

Synthetic: yes, I was waiting for it to get struck too. the weather was in that way. saw a few stray lightning bolts and some thunder. the crane crews had already gone home from the looks of things. the whole job site was kinda low on people for a Tuesday. as the wind picked up a bit I wondered to myself why those things aren't tied off to the building to keep them from tipping over in strong winds.

Does anyone know of a decent free B&W converter? before I google it I would like some direction.

STM:
This seems to be about the best of the free ones (although I haven't tried it myself):

Virtual Photographer is also a good option:

I believe the best of the non-free crop is probably B/W Styler:
