This piece is an addition to a series called "Shame" [See:
Wandering Eye and
Shame & Distruction]. Essentially it features someone covering their face for one reason or another. In this case it is simply someone covering his face from a beautiful rose. This could happen for many reasons but since it is in the Shame series it represents someone not being able to look at beauty because of fear and/or shame. Most likely a fear of not having self-control, or protecting himself from carnal thoughts or impurity... what ever. I can relate to this because I tend not to talk to women I find attractive. I'm not too sure why, but I think it is because I don’t want to even open the door for anything that would put my marriage in jeopardy. LOL, it is funny to look at ourselves and figure out why we do what we do, or why we don’t do this or that for some unknown reason. Shame is an interesting observation. So many people harbor it because they were taught that something was wrong, when in fact it may be beautiful, all you have to do is let go of the fear, uncover yourself and open your eyes. You may be supprised...
