Incredible! I am so green with envy. I would love to come across a fawn in the grass. What an awesome experience. Did you use a telephoto lens, or were you actually that close?

I was just that close. He was lying in the grass just to the right of a road that goes into the fields behind the house. I rode back there and probably nearl ran him over =X. On the way back, I noticed him and took about five different shots at different angles. Instinctivly fawns lays very still if a predator is near in hopes that their camoflauge will protect them. So this little guy was a great subject -- He stayed nice and still for me. A few hours after I took the photo, I went back to check on him and he was gone -- I'm sure his mother came by and got him.
