Thanks hagzag for your nice input regarding my cheetah image.To answer your question, I used two separate images of a cheetah and a moth, separated them from their backgrounds and placed them on a background I created from several brushes and a photo of a tree which I placed on different layers and combined with various layer blending modes. Just played with it until I got the effect I wanted.
