Description: Not quite sure what these were - old grain silos, possibly. Anyhow, they had a nice feeling of desolation about them.

Hey Tamlin - this is very good. Weirdly enough, I get the feeling the roofed structure is almost moving. Did you use any photoshop manipulations on your image?

Yes, I did manipulate the colours and contrast quite a lot. I masked off everything except the sky and used a Photo Filter to tone it, then duplicated the original image, inverted a copy of the mask (to mask just the sky) and used a Hue/Saturation layer to increase the colour saturation of the foreground. Finally I added a Levels layer to adjust the overall contrast. I usually have an idea in my mind of the sort of effect I want, but it sometimes takes a bit of fiddling to get it right!
