@Tamlin: Yeah, It works perfectly for my needs (and I'm on a small budget), planning on getting a Sigma 70-200 or 70-300 tele for it. This photo was taken with the kit objective (18-55mm).

If you're shopping around for lenses, I would consider Tamron as well as Sigma. I've got two Tamron zooms, a 18-200mm and a 11-18mm (which is great for landscapes), and they are excellent value for money. I use them at least as often as my Canon lenses - maybe even more often.
