Biorust v4 Alpha 1.0

Description: Here's a quick design I've knocked up in Photoshop. Well... I say quick, but it still took me ~20 hours! :/

Please note that all content is fake - its just there to show you how I intend to lay things out (well, at this stage anyway). Its a little light on complexity, but thats on purpose. Biorust v3 was made up of over 76 graphical slices (thats WITHOUT the content), and I wanted to rectify this in the v4 design. With a little luck, this fella will contain under 20 slices... or maybe many less if I can get certain CSS effects working.

This is the design for users with a resolution of 800x600. I will program the server to respond to higher resolutions and become 150px wider automatically (with consequent changes to the number of featured tutorials shown, random affiliates, etc).

Sooo... what do you think? All suggestions, comments, and general support will be greatly appreciated!!!

BTW, 10 bonus reputation points to the first person who can tell me which 3 sites inspired this design...

Update: Okay... To give you a clue, one of the inspirational sites was the PGA contest webby (yes, i know... who views THAT site? ). Still, I'd appreciate your advice on whether it looks a little TOO much like it was inspired by the PGA design. Many people say its ok, but I want to be sure before I go too far with this design, and some git decides to take offence...

Wow looking pretty cool mog. I wouldn't say it looked too much like the pga site, no-one would complain that you had ripped off their design. Oh and I would put next / previous page links at the bottom of the tutorial. I hate it when you have to scroll back up to move on.

Well, the new design is now online! Unfortunately none of you were anywhere near guessing the 3 inspirations for the new website. :/ They were:

- The PGA 2003 Competition website
- Neverside.com (Entrance Page)
- Mysql.com (The Product Page)

Best of luck for Biorust v5 I guess! If you are still eager for reputation points, though, you can get them by submitting tutorials or tutorial translations. Its a basic 10 point award for each basic tutorial, increasing with the relative complexity and detail in the tutorial. So start sharing your knowledge!

Man1c Your site is doing better and better. This is a cool design man, it's organized and cleaner. When will it be officialy online? I am still still seeing the old version when browsing.

Well, the design is currently active right now everywhere except the forums. I can't really apply the new skin to the forums until Vbulletin 3.5 gold comes out as it has pretty substantial coding changes, and designing a skin now would just be a waste of time. That said, it should be released in a couple of weeks... then I can get to work!
